ID-Negev festival is held once a year, for 3 days, in Mitzpe-Gvulot located in the south of Israel.
The festival started about 7 years ago, and since then attracts many musicians working in Israel and a crowd of thousands of participants from all around Israel and from all around the world.
My photography project in the ID-Negev music festival started two years ago with an old film camera. I came back this year with the same old camera and my new digital camera and continued my project.
I photographed hundreds of people. Groups, couples, individuals, people in different ages. I'm looking at them, and they are staring back at me.
My instructions were simple. Stand in front of me, look at me and just be you for a few moments.
I photographed from the morning to the night, trying to catch another portrait before the show begins, another picture before the sun set down.
For me, and probably for many others, ID-Negev Festival was an escape from work and from the routine of everyday life, A beautiful opportunity to hear good music, meet up new people, enjoy the isolation of the desert, and especially- just be.
